SFWA Publicity Committee

The duties of the SFWA Publicity Committee are:

1. To maintain and keep up-to-date a list of contacts at national media that cover science fiction, the publishing industry, and books in general.
2. To perform publicity before and after the Nebula Awards^®, promoting the awards in general, the nominees, and the winners. This entails:
   1. writing, producting, and mailing press releases to appropriate media contacts;
   2. following up with editors and journalists where appropriate; and
   3. handling queries for additional information from editors and journalists.
   It also involves contacting nominees and winners to solicit additional media contacts in their local area, determining their availability for interview, and obtaining appropriate bio information for use with publicity.
3. To perform such other publicity functions as the President or the Board of Directors shall deem necessary or useful over the course of the year (including but not limited to producing and mailing press releases upon other newsworthy actions by SFWA), and to advise the President and the Board of opportunities to obtain additional publicity for SFWA and/or its members.
