Welcome to the Accidental Beta-test!

By now I hope you’ve read about my blunder and have forgiven me for sending out renewal notices before we were ready for company. But since you are here, feel free to take a look around.

We are still getting things set up and aren’t quite ready for visitors but we’re happy to show you the site, provided you don’t mind a little sawdust.

istock_000005972800mediumWhen the site is ready to go for real, everyone will receive an email letting them know with thorough instructions. Meanwhile, feel free to explore on your own. Just don’t be surprised if everything isn’t working yet.

The beta site looks pretty good. I don’t understand why you don’t just take it live.

In other matters, can I just renew my membership through Paypal? That would be most convenient for me.

    –Best wishes,
    Ken

    Hi Ken,

I’m glad you like it! We still have a lot of content to port over, but we are closing in on going live.

And yes, you may definitely pay through Paypal. Go to the “Manage Profile” link in the left menu.

Use the email address SFWA has on file for you and either a) use the “forgot password” button or b) email me and ask me to send you a new password directly.

    Yours,
    Mary

The new website is too big for my screen (an iBook G4)–I hate this scrolling back and forth.

The homepage looks fine, but when I try to “manage profile”, all I get is your apology note. Is the “manage profile” section not up yet, or am I missing something?

We will have a text-only version for people, but it isn’t installed yet.

Edited to add: It’s installed now. Bottom of the menu.

The “manage profile” section is working. I’ve also emailed you but try clearing your cache and see if that helps.

    Got your email.

Want to send me the URL you want the WD editor to use for a screen shot?

The new site looks great!! Some interesting similarities with JK Rowling’s site. Just in layout mind you. It will be a great benefit to the membership.

Thank you! The team has worked very hard on this and they’ve got some great things on the roadmap as we continue working.
