I find it ironic that this alliance is suing Google on the grounds of practicing monopolistic behavior, when two of its members, Micro$oft and Amazon, are two of the internet's biggest practitioners of monopolistic behavior. I'm all in favor of protecting authors' rights, less so about protecting publishing companies' rights, but any alliance which includes both Micro$oft and Amazon is immediately suspect in my book.

A reread of /Melancholy Elephants/, by Spider Robinson would be in order.
