He shouldn’t even consider signing this contract without getting qualified legal advice.

The Legal Recourse section of the Overview page of Writer Beware (see the menu to the left) has links to a couple of low-cost legal consultation services, including Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. That’s a cheaper alternative, but it may not be enough. My advice is to bite the bullet, and hire the entertainment lawyer.

TV producer wants my sons company to give up all intellectual property rights and they want us to draft changes. I am not a contract lawyer and the cost for entertainment lawyers is prohibitive. Son’s company employs male youth 16-24. Please see website aarrowads.com. I am a public defender so know nothing! about this area of law but it is a good opportunity to showcase what these kids do. The problem is I don’t want them to be exploited and this contract is very one-sided.
