I am a fan for many years and probably we are related if one were to go back far enough. We believe the Tubbs we are related to are from Cookham. The painting by Spencer Sara Tubb and the Heavenly Visitors is about my great great grandmother, based on research by my brother Steven Tubb.

"By some accounts he used more than 40 different bylines, including Gill Hunt when writing with John Brunner and Dennis Hughes." Small correction: Gill Hunt was a house name of the UK paperback publisher Curtis Warren, used by several authors including Brunner, Tubb, and Hughes, but always for solo novels -- no collaborations.

A longer obituary by his friend and agent Philip Harbottle is on line <a href="http://news.ansible.co.uk/a279supp.html" rel="nofollow">here</a>.
