Hey Rachel, could this be the fourth corner? About 6 months ago I switched from the qwerty keyboard to the Dvorak one. All you have to do is go to your keyboard settings and choose Dvorak, it comes with all OS's. It takes some time getting used to it (took me about a month, typing 2 hours a day, so about 60 hours), but after that my typing speed nearly doubled. Hope it helps, don't be afraid to try it out!

What strikes me most about your method is your extraordinary generosity in sharing it like this. I was sent the link by a fellow writer on a memoir-writing class. Your lessons are universally applicable and I can see will be a huge help to me. I really hope that you'll look at taking this to a much wider audience. It's a gem. Thank you so much, Mary

I love your article and I am definitely planning on sharing it on my author blog/website whenever I get a chance to. The points on the triangle make a lot of sense. I feel I've always known this subconsciously but never had a way of actually displaying what accounts for successful writing days - your diagram is perfect! Unfortunately for me, my triangle has another, much less welcomed, point and that is energy. If I've been at work or something during the day I find myself so zapped from energy that I could not string two words together. Is there a way around fatigue that will allow me to still keep a good writing schedule?

I just wanted to share that I found the "know what you're writing" advice to be very true. I actually started it after reading "The weekend novelist". It sounds like a corny book, but it really helped me focus my writing and produce a more concise, well thought out, and much more quickly written work. One of the first things they suggest is what they call "spinning down the page" which is just as described above: sketching out the bare bones of a scene with short statements, no complete sentences, no punctuation, just action, emotion, etc. Maybe even bits of dialogue, key words that are really important. I cannot even explain how helpful this is to me. By the time I sit down to do the actual writing, the words just flow so easily, because you are already "primed".
