I have two books published by PA. They are ripping me off too. I pesonally know of sales of my books and yet no royalties. They have not done anything that they promised to promote my books, (even though I paid them to do so). They just keep emailing me with new promises and demanding more money to make it happen. Nothing ever happens. I want out of my contract and I want PA shut down.
What can I do to help?

I don’t even want to get started on what happened with my experiences with PubAm. The few others that have posted thus far have hit the nail on the head. I’m hoping that out of their 50,000+ authors, 49,999 of us get together and burn them to the ground in this lawsuit and get the rights to our work back. None of us wrote our work overnight, but that’s how quick PubAm stole it from us.

Publish America offered a bargain hardback deal if authors bought a small number of their own books. Pub/Am backed out after collecting fees from at least 300 authors. No restitution offered. Pub/Am’s smart alec email stated Pub/Am had fun. I called them on the scam and their web site went down for several days. This year they scammed a lot of folks promising a spot at US Consulate book booth in Leipsburg. I forwarded that email to the Consulate office. Now Pub/Am is discreay using generic names ans terms. They said they would visit every book store in certain states. Ha, they never announced themselves in mt two book stores. Visit? Knock on doors? I guess thats all they did. I doubt thet have a real firm in Iceland. They say they do, but I havn’t found it.

I am also an unhappy author scorned by PA. In 2009, I published my first book with Publish America and received letters about how great they thought my book is…they promoted on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles plus other websites. I have never received any compensations from my books. I wrote a sequel the same year the first book was published. They have both books on various websites saling but claims no sales. However, friends and family have brought the books, they even have an ebook copy. I wrote Publish America concerning my royalities, they claim they are waiting for pay outs from other venders such as Barnes and Nobles, Amazon among others. I have even gotten emails saying my book hasn’t made any money to just buy out my contract. I don’t believe that my book hasn’t sold. When they were first published, PA received something but hasn’t showed me any numbers. They are a fraud and I stand up to blood on them.

I am a unhappy author scorned by PA. I sent my first book to PA in 2008 and received a letter a few days later stating how excited and impressed they were by my work. They promised to edit, promote, send bi-yearly statements and 2 free author copies. I never received the 2 free copies and only 2 statements in 4 yrs. I was so irritated that I emailed them numerous times and hardly received a response and when I did, it was rude telling me “to seek legal aide” as I have been trying to get out of my contact for 3yrs. They have clearly breached their side of the contract but they refuse to admit this. Stay away from PA. I hope this lawsuit shuts them down for good so no one else is entwined in their misconceptions.
