Honestly, it is not that hard if you use the right system. Yes, 99% of the authors fail in their attempt, but lets face it, 99% of the authors are doing it wrong. And there are many money sucking traps laid along the way. Of course the pay off in fame and even a bit of a fortune is worth it, but my heart goes out to those that get caught up along the way.
