Nominations were announced in May by the Japan Fan Confederation and voting was conducted by fans prior to the annual Japan Science Fiction Convention: Japan Long Fiction: Good Luck Sento Yosei Yukikaze by Chohei Kanbayashi Japan Short Fiction: "Taiyo no Sandatsusha" by Hosuke Nojiri Overseas Long Fiction: Kirinyaga by Mike Resnick (Translated by Masayuki Uchida) Overseas Short Fiction: "Out of the Everywhere" by James Tiptree Jr. (Translated by Norio Ito) Media: Bebop by Shin-ichiro Watanabe Comic Strips/Books: Itihaasa by Wakako Mizuki Art: Kenji Tusuruta Nonfiction: AIBO by Sony Mike Resnick will receive a certificate and momento of the Seiun Award at the beginning of the Hugo Awards presentation at the World Science Fiction Convention in Chicago, IL on September 2.
