Nominations sought for 2002 DUFF race
************************************************************

Nominations are now open for the 2002 Down Under Fan Fund (DUFF) race to send an Australian or New Zealand fan to North America for the 60th World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) in San Jose, California, from Thursday 29th August to Monday 2nd September, 2002.

Candidates must have three Australasian nominators and two North American nominators. Candidates should send the following to Cathy Cupitt, the Australian administrator, by midnight on Tuesday 2 April 2002:

  • your 5 nominations in writing (email is fine),
  • a 100-word (max) platform telling why you want to be a DUFF delegate,
  • a $25 bond pledging (barring acts of God) to attend the Worldcon.

In the case of email nominations, we ask that you send them to both Cathy Cupitt and Naomi Fisher.

Slow Glass Books, at 305 Swanston Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 is also available as a drop-off point for nominations and bond checks (made out to Cathy Cupitt), and for completed ballots and voting fees once nominations close. Many thanks to Justin Ackroyd, Slow Glass Books proprietor, Fan Fund Auctioneer Extraordinaire, and 1984 GUFF delegate, for graciously helping out with this! If you have any questions regarding the nomination process, please contact either:
