Kurd Lasswitz Price Award Winners

The Winners of the "Kurd Lasswitz Preis" (Kurd Lasswitz Price"), voted by German SF-Professionals, were announced Friday, May 5 by Udo Klotz.

The Winners are:

  • Best German Novel 1999: Andreas Eschbach, Kelwitts Stern (Schneekluth)
  • Best Foreign Novel 1999: Greg Egan, Distress (Heyne)
  • Best german Short-Story 1999: Wolfgang Jeschke, "Die Cusanische Acceleratio" from: Alexanders langes Leben, Stalins frueher Tod (Heyne)
  • Best Translation 1999: Greg Gan, Distress (Heyne). Translation by Bernhard Kempen
  • Best Grapic 1999: Erik Simon, Lichtjahr 7 (Freundeskreis SF Leipzig e.V.). Cover by Mario Franke
  • Best german Audio 1999: "Traeumen Androiden" from Marina Dietz. Based upon a Story by Philip K. Dick
  • Special Price 1999: Erik Simon and "Freundeskreis SF Leipzig e.V." for Lichtjahr 7
