Lambda Literary Awards finalists

The Lambda Literary Foundation has announced this year's Lambda Literary Awards finalists. The Lammys are comprehensive gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender literary awards honoring American books for excellence and vision.

The finalists for Lesbian & Gay Science Fiction/Fantasy are

    Minions of the Moon by Richard Bowes, Tor Books
    Night Shade by Victoria Brownworth & Judith Redding, Seal Press
    The Annunciate by Severna Park, Avon-Eos
    The Gumshoe, the Witch, and the Virtual Corpse by Keith Hartman, Meisha Merlin
    Through a Brazen Mirror by Delia Sherman, Cortney Skinner & Ellen Kushner, Circlet

This year's awards presentation will be preceded by Lammy finalists events in readings in San Francisco (April 13, at the San Francisco Main Public Library), Los Angeles (April 19), and Chicago (April 28, at the Gerber-Hart Library). The winners will be announced at a gala event to be held at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, IL, on June 1, 2000. Tickets are $100 each ($95 if purchased before March 1). Additional Lammy readings will be held in Washington, D.C. (June 7), New York (June 15), and Philadelphia (June 17).
