Richard Laymon (1947-2001)

Richard Laymon, author of 25 novels and over 60 short stories, passed away from a heart attack on February 14, 2001.

Mr. Laymon was born in Chicago in 1947. He lived in Los Angeles, California for many years. He wrote children’s fiction, horror, nonfiction, romance, suspense and young adult fiction. His first story, "Desert Pickup," appeared in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine in 1970. He was President of Horror Writers of America since 2000.

He is survived by his wife Ann and daughter Kelly.
