| New Zealand born artist Mike Hinge passed away in his apartment in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania about 3 weeks ago.
One of the most prominent New Zealand science fiction fans of the 1950s, Hinge moved to the United States, living in Manhattan and suburban Philadelphia. In the genre, he did magazine and book cover art, as well as interior illustrations
He did many covers for Amazing Stories and Analog in the early 1970s. His last professional commission was the September 1993 Amazing Stories
Comicon.com reports that he is survived by a brother, Noel, Noel's son and daughter, and Noel's two grandchildren. There are other distant relatives in the U.S. and around the world. |
