SFWA member Sean A. Moore of Boulder, Colorado was killed in an automobile crash on Feb. 23, 1998. He was 33.
Sean Moore was the author of several books for Tor, including the novelization of KULL THE CONQUEROR (1997) and three novels based on Robert E. Howard's famous character Conan: CONAN THE HUNTER (1993), CONAN AND THE SHAMAN'S CURSE (1996), and CONAN AND THE GREAT GREY GHOST (1996). He was also an uncredited contributor to the KULL screenplay and had a story in the Partridge/Greenberg anthology IT CAME FROM THE DRIVE-IN. Moore had recently taken up writing full-time, and was working on a major SF/horror novel titled DIGGERS for Tor. A well-liked member of the Colorado pro and fan communities, Moore is being remembered by both as a personable and quick-witted young writer whose abbreviated career only hints at the full range of his talents and his potential achievements. MR Moore was a controller for Aspen Systems Inc. of Wheat Ridge. He wrote fiction stories and books, played and wrote computer games and designed board games. He enjoyed fencing. He was a computer programmer and systems operations specialist. Funeral services were held February 28 at Crown Hill in Denver, CO.
