Kurt Vonnegut, author of Slaughterhouse-Five and Cat's Cradle has been hospitalized following a fire at his Manhattan home on Sunday, January 30.

Vonnegut, age 77, his wife and daughter were in the home at the time of the fire. He was treated for smoke inhalation, but officials at New York Presbyterian Hospital would not comment on his condition.

The Associated Press reports that his daughter, Lily, said he was the only one injured in the fire. She said he was fine, but probably would remain hospitalized for a few days.
