Ace will publish Plague War in July, with Mind Plague set to follow in Summer 2009. Piper Verlag plans to release the nanotech Plague novels beginning in September as “part of a special marketing campaign aiming to link phantastic and mainstream novels in order to widen the range for ‘phantastic thrillers’ in both the mainstream and the science fiction/fantasy market,” including advertising, special pages in Piper catalogues, and cross-promotion in genre and non-genre media. Plague Year has also sold to Spanish publisher Minotauro. Audio rights went to Recorded Books and Audible.com, who will release Plague Year on CD and as a digital download in July. Reviews of Plague Year: “Engrossing and believable. Plague Year offers the most pure adrenaline you’ll find in a novel all year.”—SF Reviews (www.sfreviews.net) “Jeff Carlson debuts boldly and strongly, providing a thrilling, fast-paced novel that’s sure to be gulped down in a single sitting by avid readers.” —Paul Di Filippo, Science Fiction Weekly (www.scifi.com) “Unique. I look forward to seeing what he comes up with next.” —Bookgasm (www.bookgasm.com) “Carlson has crafted an exceptional, gripping debut that exposes the worst and best of humanity while maintaining a constant tension level that will keep the pages turning to the very end. The personal and political machinations are credible, the characters are well developed and the climax satisfying. This apocalyptic view of nanotechnology provides plenty to think about.” —Monsters and Critics (www.monstersandcritics.com)
