LA & Seattle win site selection

Los Angeles won the right to host the 64th World Science Fiction Convention in Anaheim, California. L.A. con IV will be a held one week before Labor Day, August 23 -27, 2006. Guests of Honor are Connie Willis, James Gurney, Howard DeVore, and Frankie Thomas.

There has been some uncertainty in the exact vote count, but LA one by approximately 70 votes out of over 1400 with a preference.

Seattle won the right to host the 2005 North American Science Fiction Convention, which is held in years when the World Convention is outside North America. Cascadia Con will be held September 1-5, 2005. Guests of Honor are Fred Saberhagen, Liz Danforth, Toni Weisskopf and Kevin Standlee.

Seattle’s winning margin was 5 or 6 votes out of approximately 400.
