"Publishing Schemes Prove to Be Pure Fiction": Linton Weeks interviews Ann Crispin, SFWA VP. Valuable information for aspiring writers. Washington Post, Tuesday, September 28, 1999. October 10, 1999ABC News interviews SFWA vice president Ann Crispin about publishing scams. June 2, 1999Hi, I'm Ann Crispin, aka A.C. Crispin. I'm a full-time writer of science fiction and fantasy, and the only thing I really don't like writing about is myself. (I'm camera-shy, too!) But these days, everyone has a web page, and a dear friend has been kind enough to do this nifty one for me. So...welcome! C'mon in and set a spell. In upcoming months, I'll have some writing excerpts, articles, and other items of interest about me, and writing in general. At the moment, I'm busy working on a very important new project: my first original fantasy trilogy. It's called The Exiles of Boq'urain. The first book, Storms of Destiny, is nearing completion. This project has been a real challenge, and will be published by AvonEos. I'll post publication dates as I learn about them. I also have a newsletter called ACCess, which is run by John and Sue Hicks. Subscriptions are free, and you can be put on the mailing list by writing to the following address: ACCess May 19, 1999Some other news...I was recently elected Vice President of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. I've worked for my writers organization for nearly 10 years now, helping to make it one of the most active small writers organizations in this country. Recently I started up a committee to help track and warn aspiring writers about the dangers of writing scams. As for writing projects, I'm currently toying with several possible ideas for another Star Trek book. We've also had interest expressed for another StarBridge book, but no contracts have been signed yet. |
