Here will be bits and pieces of just about anything I want to talk and /or rant about.

Killed the Blog. Currently working on a couple of novels. Currently reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire. Heavy stuff. Not going to get everything out of in one read through.

Just finished a great book, and I highly recommend this one if you like a mystery now and then. It's called Monkeewrench, a debut suspense novel by a mother/daughter team under the name of P. J. Tracy. They've just released a second novel with the same detective called Live Bait. I have it but haven't read it yet. If it's anywhere as good as the first one, I suspect I'll be getting each of their novels as they get released. The ending on Monkeewrench is a little cliched, but the journey to get there was so emjoyable, I forgave them. A Must Read.

Finally obtained and read a book I've been wanting to read for a while now. Fredric Brown's What Mad Universe. I loved it. Actually, I've been wanting to read a couple of his, (Martians Go Home being the other) and they were both in this omnibus I received. His writing is very enjoyable. It's pure pulp, but still a great read. It's fascinating to read these stories from the fifties and see the evolution of science fiction.

My favorite shows this season are Stargate Atlantis, Charmed, Desperate Housewives, Lost, and South Park. Right now my reading is leaning toward quirky writing, so the authors at the top of my current list include: Tom Holt (British fantasy writer, but very funny if you can get his books), Bill Fitzhugh, Carl Hiaasan, Tim Dorsey, and Christopher Moore. I also particuarly like Bentley Little and Scott Nicholson in the horror genre.
