Media Man! was supposed to make Ken Rand rich and famous... He wrote the Media Man! humor columns from late 1988 until 1995 for the Millard County Chronicle Progress, the Pinedale Roundup, and finally the Fishwrapper! (an excellent title for a newspaper, don't you think?), more than 150 columns in all. Lady Fame, Miss Fortune, and Sigourney Weaver never returned his calls. But then, I arrived. I allowed him to take me in one rainy night and immediately set about training him in such journalistic niceties as spelling, grammar, how to read a thesaurus, and how to open a tuna can. Thus did I become Cato, the Wonder Kitty!, and thus did my human sidekick become rich (because he had me) and famous (ditto). Some columns that MM! wrote were less mediocre than others. The better ones, I wrote when MM! was out to lunch, actually or metaphorically. Collected here for the first time in kitty history are those most terrific columns (ten of them). Oh, how lucky you are. After you finish reading the columns, please share them with your human. Then let your human scratch your chin; they love it when you let them do that. |
