Banquet

The Nebula Awards Banquet will be held Saturday evening, May 19, 2012 in the Regency Ballroom of the Hyatt.  The room will open at 7:00 p.m.  The Banquet will be preceded by a cash bar in the Foyer adjacent to the Regency Ballroom beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Our Toastmaster, Walter Jon Williams, founded the Taos Toolbox, a two-week writer’s workshop.  In his copious spare time he is also a fifth-degree black belt in Kenpo Karate.  The Keynote Speaker is Astronaut Mike Fincke.

Choices for the Nebula Awards Banquet entrée, with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables, are:

  • Herb Grilled Beef Rib Eye with Caramelized Shallot Port Sauce
  • Pan Seared Atlantic Corvina with Lemon-Bread Crumb Topping
  • Vegetable Wellington

Salad: Mixed Greens with Julienne Carrots, Jicama, Beets and Peppers with Cabernet Vinaigrette

Rolls & butter and coffee and tea will also be served.  A cash bar will be located in the Foyer.

Dessert: Blackberry Mascarpone Shortcake

The cost of the banquet is $75.00 per person.  Please register for the banquet when you register for the Nebula Awards Weekend, if possible.

Publishers Tables:

We have de-coupled the membership/registration fee from the banquet.  There is a fee for the membership (this fee raises as the event approaches) and a fee for the banquet (this fee is $75.00 regardless of when the banquet ticket is purchased, however note that banquet tickets may not be available after the 10th of May.)  There are eight (8) seats per banquet table.

No refunds will be provided by SFWA even if one or more of the people already have their banquet ticket (we don’t charge you for that person’s seat).  If you wish to provide a refund for the person/people who already purchased his/her/their banquet(s) that is up to you to arrange.

Purchasing a Publishers Table provides the right to a ten (10) percent discount on either an ad in the Nebula Awards Weekend SFWA Bulletin or a fifteen (15) percent discount in a package of ads in the SFWA Bulletin.
