Christian B. McGuire, Chairman of L.A.con IV, announced yesterday that there will be an internet lounge at this year's World Science Fiction Convention. In July, he reported that financial constraints prohibited free wifi or an internet lounge this year.

Christian says, "This has been achieved through the good works of a couple of well respected fanish organizations. Noreascon 4, sponsored by MCFI, and SFSFC, who brought you ConJose have made grants which allowed us to afford the expensive connectivity provided by the vendor in the Anaheim Convention Center."

"The computers and attached bits are being provided by the folks who bring you the Baycon internet lounge."

"There will not be (free) WiFi."

There will be ten stations: eight with computers and two where laptop can connect. They will be located in the Space Port Lounge in the Convention Center. Look for the signs that say: "space academy intergalactic computer network access points."

Internet service in the Hilton Anaheim runs $12.95/day or $29.95/72 hours. Service in the Anaheim Marriott is $9.95/day.
