Several science fiction related organizations took advantage of the gathering of the SF community at TuckerCon, the 2007 North American Science Fiction Convention, to present their annual awards in Collinsville, Illinois this past weekend.

First Fandom presented two awards:

• Hall of Fame Award: Algis Budrys
• Hall of Fame Award: Don Daily (posthumous)

DucKon presented the Golden Duck Awards for excellence in children's science fiction:

• Picture Book: Night of the Homework Zombies by Scott Nickel and illustrated by Steve Harpster
• Middle Grades: Apers by Mike Jansen and Barbara Day Zincola
• Young Adult: Rash by Pete Hautman
• Special Award: Write Your Own Science Fiction Story by Tish Farrel

Steven Silver presented the Sidewise Awards for Alternate History:

• Short Form: "Counterfactual" by Gardner Dozois (F&SF, June 2006)
• Long Form: The Family Trade, The Hidden Family, and The Clan Corporate by Charles Stross

Mike Jansen and Barbara Day Zincola receive the Eleanor Cameron Award -
the Middle Grades Golden Duck Award
