Alice Borchardt (1939-2007)

Fantasy, horror, and historical romance writer, Alice Borchardt, passed away from cancer in her Houston home on July 24, 2007 at the age of 67.

Following a career as a nurse, Borchardt's first published novel was Devoted, which appeared in 1995. Her best known series was the Legends of the Wolves, a trilogy made up of The Silver Wolf, Night of the Wolf and The Wolf King.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford, and four sisters, including the novelist, Ann Rice.

A funeral was held at Geo. H. and Sons funeral home in Houston, on July 28. The family suggests that memorial contributions go to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
