*************************************************** Alice Borchardt (1939-2007) *************************************************** Fantasy, horror, and historical romance writer, Alice Borchardt, passed away from cancer in her Houston home on July 24, 2007 at the age of 67. Following a career as a nurse, Borchardt's first published novel was Devoted, which appeared in 1995. Her best known series was the Legends of the Wolves, a trilogy made up of The Silver Wolf, Night of the Wolf and The Wolf King. She is survived by her husband, Clifford, and four sisters, including the novelist, Ann Rice. A funeral was held at Geo. H. and Sons funeral home in Houston, on July 28.
