Grant and Gorey to receive HWA Lifetime Achievement Award
**********************************************************

Writer Charles Grant and writer/artist Edward Gorey will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Horror Writer Association. The award is given "to an individual whose work has substantially influenced the dark fantasy/horror/occult genre. It honors not merely the superior achievement embodied in a single work but acknowledges superior achievement in an entire career."

A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Mr. Grant is the author of numerous horror and suspense novels, including the X-Files novels, Goblins and Whirlwind and Winter Knight.

Edward Gorey is the author and illustrator of a number of unusual books that have been described as "morbid children's stories not intended for children." His most widely seen work is the drawings used for the animated opening to the public television show 'Mystery!'.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented, along with HWA's other awards, the Stokers (named after Dracula author Bram Stoker) at HWA's yearly meeting, being held May 11-14 in conjunction with the Tenth Annual World Horror Convention at the Adams Mark Hotel in Denver, Colorado.
