Keith Parkinson (1958-2005)

Dark Sword Miniatures reports that fantasy artist Keith Arlin Parkinson passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2005. He had been battling Leukemia for the previous 16 months.

A graduate of the Kendall School of Design in 1980, Keith worked 5 years for TSR prior to starting a freelance career. His covers appear on books from Terry Goodkind, Anne McCaffrey, Orson Scott Card, C.J. Cherryh, and many others. His many awards including back to back Chesley Awards for best hard cover jacket illustration in 1988 and 1989.

Keith moved on to game design with the introduction of Guardians in 1995.

Two books of Keith’s art have been published, as well as screen savers and art trading cards.

In recent years he produced art for the EverQuest online game by Sony and THQ's Summoner. He also painted an EverQuest piece that appeared on the cover of EM>TV GUide.

Since 2002 Keith was Art Director with Sigil Games Online.
