Pat recently retired from a career as a teacher and was devoting more time to her writing. She published short fiction in various publications and was twice a Finalist in the Writers Of the Future Contest. Her short story "You Wandered Off Like A Foolish Child To Break Your Heart And Mine" was a finalist for the 2000 Nebula Awards and was reprinted in Nebula Awards Showcase 2002. Pat was a long time member of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America where she had served as a volunteer. Her friends are invited to celebrate Pat's life during open houses on Monday, May 30 and Tuesday, May 31 from 4PM - 9PM at the York home at 783 Chestnuthill Road in East Aurora, NY.
