Help Wanted!

SFWA always needs more volunteers, whether to take over for folks who are stepping down after having served their time, or to staff up new committees.

The following table lists the latest job openings provided by the vice-president, who appoints the members of all committees save those of the Membership and Election Committees. If you're interested in volunteering but don't happen to see anything suitable here, please email the vice-president.

Grants & Fellowships Committee Committee member 1-5 hrs/week Catherine Asaro, SFWA VP, or James C. Glass, Chair
Description: The Grants & Fellowships Committee exists to find grant and fellowship opportunities that SFWAns might want to take advantage of, and keep members apprised of those opportunities. The current list is out of date, and one goal of the committee is to bring it current and make it available on SFWA's Website. Data was collected for federal and many private agencies, but what is most needed now is state and local data.
Requirements: Active, Associate, or Affiliate Member
Willingness to contact universities to help collect data
Email & snailmail competence
Good telephone skills
Comments: Someone familiar with the grant proposal process would be wonderful, but is not required. Database and HTML skills would also be wonderful, but are also not required. Not a deadline-oriented position. University contacts, or other related contacts, would be very helpful.
