Service to SFWA Committee

It's not always easy being a volunteer for SFWA; we're an opinionated bunch, and people often have another idea (or ten) as to how something should be handled. Sometimes we forget that we're all volunteers, whether we're officers or the last person closing up the SFWA suite at a Worldcon. No one has to do these jobs, but they have to get done.

The Service to SFWA Committee was founded in 1999 by Madeleine Robins, Elizabeth Moon, and Melanie Miller Fletcher. The Committee exists to find appropriate ways to recognize, give credit to, and thank everyone who volunteers in any capacity to help SFWA. Volunteers whose work is acknowledged are more likely to continue to volunteer, and newcomers are more likely to volunteer if they see that the work is valued by their colleagues.

And anyway, didn't Mom tell you to say thank you?
