Lessons Library

SFWA is proud to partner with AboutSF.com in providing the Lessons Library, containing Lesson Plans, Reader’s Guides and Sample Courses.

These lessons are aimed at students from all educational levels and backgrounds. Whether you’re a high school teacher looking for an introduction to SF, a physics student looking for SF novels about physics, or a reader hoping to learn about the history of science fiction, you’ll find something to interest you here!

The Lessons Library contains:

  • Course Outlines: full courses with lesson plans and handouts. A number of key texts are used in each course, while other courses are devoted to a single book or author.
  • Sample Academic Projects: samples of academic work done about science fiction. Some specifically address teaching SF, while others give in-depth looks at specific texts.
  • Reader’s Guides provides study questions and reader’s guides for individual books. The texts are listed by title.
