June 1, 2006, will see the launch of Esther Friesner's new YA novel, Temping Fate, from Dutton (a division of Penguin). No, that's not a typo; this is the story of a somewhat left-of-ordinary high school girl, living in the wilds of suburban Connecticut, who gets a summer job doing temp work for some definitely extra-ordinary employers. You know, even the gods need a day off now and then.
In other news, Friesner's play, The Shame of Maudie Jones (an old-fashioned "mellerdrama") is in performances now through October 14, 2006.
