For Immediate Release
|
June 14, 2006 Edited by SF veterans William Sanders and Lawrence Watt-Evans, Helix, a quarterly speculative fiction webzine, debuts June 15 of this year.
Helix is intended primarily as an outlet for stories that other editors might find too controversial, too unconventional, or simply too weird to risk publishing. The Helix staff is taking an unorthodox direction with its business model as well, refusing ads and declining subscriptions but putting out a virtual storyteller's bowl for donations.
Helix debuts with stories by Janis Ian, Rick Bowes, Robert Brown, Adam-Troy
Castro, Beth Bernobich, William Sanders, and Bud Webster, as well as
columns, editorials, and book reviews. To read the premier issue (or to
point and say, "Those fools! This will never work!"), head for
