Suzette Haden Elgin has a new book of science fiction narrative poems titled Twenty-One Novel Poems, just out from Sam's Dot Publishing; the ISBNs are 978-1-933556-95-6 and 1-933556-95-1 and the price is $9.95. For four of the poems, Internet addresses from Elgin's Live Journal blog are included, where readers can see the poem being written, with earlier drafts and with comments from her readers — and where anyone can join the discussion and post their own comments about the poems and the poem-making process. The book includes a Reader's Guide section with a commentary by Elgin for each poem, plus discussion questions. Elgin founded the Science Fiction Poetry Association (SFPA) in 1978, and is the author of The Science Fiction Poetry Handbook, published by Sam's Dot in 2005, for which all royalties go to the SFPA.
