Niven, Larry & Lerner, Edward M.: Fleet of Worlds (Tor, Oct07)
I didn't grow up reading Heinlein. During my "golden age of SF," I was reading Niven's Known Space books. His stuff from the 70s I find holds up pretty well, but, well, the last couple decades of Niven's output have mostly made me sigh. This one, though, Niven's first collaboration with Lerner, captures some of the old lightning, especially in the sections focusing on the Puppeteers. I had a good time reading it.
