RIP: Flonet E. Biltgen (1944-2006)

Flonet E. Biltgen, 61, of Wexford, PA, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, after a brief battle with colon cancer. Beloved wife of 39 years of Renard L.; loving mother of Renee Ramey and Erica Deitzel; grandmother of Mason Ramey (8 months) and Kye Deitzel (4 months).

Flonet was an integral part of the science fiction community in Pittsburgh, a long-time member of the Pittsburgh Worldwrights and a regular program participant at Confluence. She was a Clarion grad who started her writing career with a story published in the Writers of The Future anthology in 1988. She is mostly known for her genre poetry, but also published in Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine.

Visitation is Saturday, April 1, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at H.P.Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway Pittsburgh, PA. The service is Sunday, April 2, at 1 PM, at the Funeral Home. Donations to the Natural Resources Defense Fund or the Sierra Club
