Adapting Writing Prompts for SciFi-Fantasy-Edited (pdf)

About the Author

I’ve been a student of the storytelling arts since my father caught me eating the cover of The Hobbit when I was a toddler, and I have devoured each story I have come across ever since, albeit in more polite fashion. Since my Hobbit teething days, I have loved fantasy and science fiction, and one of my proudest personal moments was building a set of shelves from IKEA to put all my books on. Aside from a host of other academic pursuits, I graduated with my MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Tampa the summer of 2018 and currently work as a writing tutor at my local community college. I write science fantasy novels and seek to find them good homes with publishers as I try to break into academia, ideally as a creative writing/English professor. To that end, I have brainstormed countless ways to incorporate my beloved fantasy and science fiction work into the literary field of English education, all drawn from my experiences as a ‘genre’ writer in an academic, literary world.
