Steam Press, a New Zealand publisher, is running a world-wide competition for short-short science fiction stories. All stories will be considered for possible publication, and the winning entry will be awarded a prize of USD$500.00.
- The story must be between 1000 and 1500 words (no exceptions).
- The story must be suitable for Young Adults and with a positive outlook.
- The story must be “Hard Science Fiction.” Hard science fiction is characterised by an emphasis on scientific accuracy or technical detail or both (no exceptions and no fantasy).
- All entries must be submitted no later than 12 noon, 15 August 2016, GMT.
