Nebula Toastmaster Named

Nick Offerman will be Toastmaster at the 50th Annual Nebula Awards, held in Chicago, June 4 through 7, 2015.

Nick is an American actor, writer, humorist, and carpenter most known for his role as Ron Swanson in the successful NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation (for which he received the Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy from the Television Critics Association.) His semi-autographical memoir, Paddle You Own Canoe: One Man’s Fundamentals for Delicious Living, was called “Thought provoking, profane, and frequently hilarious” by Publishers Weekly and his upcoming Gumption: Relighting the Torch of Freedom with America’s Gutsiest Troublemakers debuts before the Nebula Weekend on May 26th. His filmography includes voice work from Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, Gravity Falls, Axe Cop, as well as this years’s Bradbury Award nominated The Lego Movie. A lifelong fan of the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres, Mr. Offerman wrote that “is veritably bursting his buttons to be asked to participate in celebrating this year’s best talent.”

Fan-favorite author Cixin Liu will also be making a special appearance in the states from China to meet with fans and participate at the Weekend. Cixin’s hard science fiction novel, The Three-Body Problem, is being developed into film and has been nominated for the Nebula Award, the Hugo Award, and more.

The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America’s 50th Annual Nebula Awards Weekend will be held at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, Illinois, June 4 through 7, 2015. The weekend will include tours and workshops.
