Many of our committees provide a place to discuss interests and learn from each other, through regular online meetings, Discord channels, and more. The Nebula Conference is always an amazing opportunity to find fellowship with other writers, whether you’re attending in person or as part of the online Airship Nebula.

SFWA also supports other organizations that work with writers through our Givers Fund Grants – one way SFWA contributes to a flourishing landscape for writers around the world.

Volunteers are a vital part of our community. It is only thanks to the generosity, time, and expertise of our volunteers that SFWA is able to be a strong advocate and community for writers. Interested in what volunteering opportunities we have? New calls are posted regularly, and we’re always happy to welcome another volunteer.

We also have a number of programs dedicated to helping each other through the difficult times. For example, the Emergency Medical Fund can offer vital support in the case of sudden medical costs. Similarly, our Legal Fund can help defray costs associated with legal action on writing-related cases.
